Royal Canadian Mint To Launch New Digital Currency
The Canadians are innovating on money. First they announced they were phasing out the penny, and now they are planning to launch a new digital currency, called MintChip.
The Mint has five patents involved in its approach, and they believe they have learned from and can avoid the mistake of other pioneering digital money efforts (like BitCoin).
To begin, MintCoin will only work with Canadian currency, but they plan to add other currencies over time.
